Dan Jennings

Dan Jennings is the Head Groundskeeper with the Dayton Dragons. He has a diversified background and plenty of Midwest League experience. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dan is a graduate of Michigan State University’s Sports and Commercial Turfgrass program. After interning with the Great Lakes Loons in 2008, Dan was promoted to assistant groundskeeper in 2009, and subsequently took over as head groundskeeper, winning honors as the League’s Turf Manager of the Year. In 2010, Dan spent most of his time in the major leagues with the Texas Rangers, which included an opportunity to work at the World Series in October, sandwiched between a return to the Midwest League in August and September when he assisted on the Fort Wayne TinCaps grounds crew. Dan just finished a major renovation at Fifth Third Field, he is also an avid outdoorsman.

STMA's Proud Past

The Sports Turf Managers Association was officially formed in 1981 because of a few who believed sports turf could be improved through sharing knowledge.
