Scholarship & Award Opportunities

Educational Scholarship - This program is designed for a student that is pursuing a degree with a focus in the area of Turfgrass Management.  Education of students pursuing a career in this profession is one thing the OSTMA is proud to promote.  A specially appointed scholarship committee through the OSTMA Board of Directors will evaluate each application and the winner(s) will receive the scholarship at the OSTMA Annual Meeting in December.  For more information and a scholarship application, click here

Field of the Year - Each year the Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association and Profile Products recognize the hard work and dedication of an individual and organization for their persistence in maintaining safe and aesthetically pleasing playing surfaces.  The award recipient is given a plaque recognizing the facility, Field of the Year apparel for crew and a one year membership to OSTMA for the head manager.  The award is presented at the annual OSTMA meeting/dinner during the OTF annual conference in Columbus.  Past Recipients Include:  2013 - Mack Hummon Stadium, Oakwood City Schools; 2012 - Schoolhouse Park Football Field, Centerville-Washington Park District; 2011 - Beavers Field, Fairfield County Baseball Complex;   2010 -  Northwestern High School Football Field; 2009 - Gersey Field, Ottawa Hills Schools; 2008 – Centennial Park/Englewood Little League; 2007 – Cats Stadium/Sylvania City Schools; 2006 – Fifth Third Field/Toledo MudHens; and 2005 – Perry Stadium/Bowling Green State University.  To nominate a field, email the field manager's contact information, a brief description of why the field is being nominated, and a few pictures of the field.  The facility manager does not need to be an OSTMA member to receive the award.

The deadline for both award applications is October 15, 2014.
